Chris Hannan’s new play The God of Soho had it's world premiere at Shakespeare’s Globe on Saturday 27 August 2011. Written especially for the Globe theatre, Hannan’s play is a savagely modern City Comedy, complementing the long tradition of bracing satires on London, with a wild assault on the lurid world of modern celebrity.  It is a world of addiction to cocaine and to handbags, to flash-bulbs and to tabloid exposure, and all filled with the overwhelming need for the modern world’s most powerful drug, attention. Bursting with dirty language and filthy content, The God of Soho was directed by Raz Shaw, and featured Emma Pierson, Phil Daniels and Edward Hogg
